I DAS EFX hanno guadagnato il supporto della critica e del pubblico con l\u2019uscita del loro album di debutto,\u00a0<strong><em>Dead Serious<\/em><\/strong>, che ha messo in luce proprio questo loro insolito stile, soprannominato \u201csewage\u201d. Da quel momento diversi elementi di questo stile sono stati adottati da altri artisti hip hop, tra cui Lords of the Underground, The Fu-Schnickens, Kris Kross, Common e persino, anche se in misura minore, Public Enemy.
