Bj\u00f6rk<\/strong> ha annunciato tre special matinee<\/em>\u00a0performances<\/em>\u00a0con\u00a0Iceland<\/strong>\u00a0Airwaves<\/strong>, una serie di appuntamenti live streaming per raccogliere fondi per le associazioni di supporto alle donne di tutto il mondo. Con l\u2019Islanda che ora riapre dopo la pandemia di COVID-19, gli show potranno svolgersi con il pubblico presso la\u00a0Reykjav\u00edk\u2019s Harpa Hall il 9, 15 e 23 agosto.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I tre concerti saranno una celebrazione dei musicisti islandesi con cui Bj\u00f6rk ha lavorato in tutti questi anni; ciascuna serata vedr\u00e0 l\u2019artista collaborare con\u00a0oltre cento musicisti islandesi<\/strong>, tra i tre gruppi che hanno composto una parte importante nella creazione della sua discografia. Ogni concerto avr\u00e0 diverse scalette, con gli arrangiamenti strumentali di Bj\u00f6rk suonati dalla\u00a0Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, dal Flute Septet Viibra, dal Hamrahl\u00ed\u00f0 Choir\u00a0<\/strong>e da ospiti speciali, senza elettronica. La performance raccoglier\u00e0 fondi \u00a0per\u00a0Kvennaathvarfid<\/a>, associazione che supporta donne e immigrati di diverse origini in Islanda.<\/p>\n

A note from Bj\u00f6rk:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

dear friends<\/p>\n

i would like to invite you to some concerts<\/p>\n

to honour
\nfolks who got hit hardest in the coronavirus
\nand the black lives matter movement<\/p>\n

and to honour how many icelandic musicians i have worked with through the years<\/p>\n

i recorded almost all of my albums with local musicians :<\/p>\n

homogenic with an icelandic string octet
\nmedulla with schola cantorum ( an icelandic mixed choir )
\nvolta with 10 brass girls i found all over the island and then later they formed wonderbrass
\nbiophilia with langholt\u00b4s church girl choir graduale nobili
\nvulnicura with a 15 piece string ensemble
\nutopia with 12 female fluteplayers who later formed the flute septet viibra
\ncornucopia with hamrahl\u00ed\u00f0\u00b4s choir conducted by \u00feorger\u00f0ur ing\u00f3lfsd\u00f3ttir
\nall these albums where then performed all around the planet with these musicians
\ntogether they are over hundred people !!<\/p>\n

and we are going to celebrate that we are all healthily exiting quarantine together by playing concerts in harpa music hall for 3 weekends of august<\/p>\n

my input into the feminist fight is to brag about that almost all of those arrangements are by me
\nunfortunately this is something that is almost always ignored when women are arrangers<\/p>\n

the concerts will be in the afternoons and will also be streamed live online, where there will be an option to donate to the icelandic women’s shelter – which supports women of all origin in iceland<\/p>\n

for those attending in person, after the concert we will be offering food to raise money in support of this charity<\/p>\n

the concerts will be “unplugged” or acoustic and performed without beats and electronics
\nthe concerts will be performed with the icelandic symphony orchestra and guests<\/p>\n

i feel we are going through extraordinary times
\nhorrifying but also an opportunity to truly change
\nit is demanded of us that we finally confront all racism
\nthat we learn that lives are more important that profit
\nand look inside us and finecomb out all our hidden prejudices and privileges<\/p>\n
