Björk annuncia oggi l’uscita nelle sale cinematografiche dell’iconico film concerto ‘Björk: Cornucopia’, disponibile nei cinema tramite Trafalgar Releasing (Mercury Studios/Universal Music Group).
Il film – della durata di 1 ora e 39 minuti più una proiezione aggiuntiva di 3 video musicali – è la performance live più elaborata di Björk ad oggi e sarà disponibile in circa 500 cinema in oltre 25 paesi a partire dal 7 maggio, tra cui Australia, Brasile, Canada, Danimarca, Francia, Germania, Spagna, Svizzera, Svezia, Stati Uniti, Regno Unito ed altri ancora. ‘Björk: Cornucopia’ offre una rara opportunità di vivere la piena magia dello spettacolo originale in uno straordinario 4K e Dolby Atmos in un ambiente cinematografico, rendendolo un evento imperdibile. ‘Cornucopia’ ha riscosso un ampio consenso per le sue immagini all’avanguardia ed il suono immersivo, mentre lo spettacolo dal vivo ha viaggiato per il mondo. Questo film cattura l’affascinante trasformazione del concerto delle immagini VR del 21° secolo in un’impostazione teatrale del 19° secolo, elevando il lavoro di Björk in un’innovazione musicale, attivismo ambientale ed espressione emotiva, viaggiando tra i brani più iconici della straordinaria artista fino ai più recenti album, ‘Utopia’ e ‘Fossora’. Il film, in collaborazione con artisti ed animatori di fama mondiale, esplora anche le crisi ambientali, offrendo una riflessione ottimista e post-apocalittica sul nostro futuro collettivo.

Directed by Ísold Uggadóttir, the film features Björk’s visionary sound and visual creative direction, as well as her music arrangements, production, and performance. The film’s striking visuals are shaped by James Merry as co-creative director of visuals, with original animation by Tobias Gremmler – and additional contributions from Andrew Thomas Huang, Gabríela Friðriksdóttir, Pierre-Alain Giraud, Nick Knight, and Warren Du Preez & Nick Thornton-Jones, who meld their visual artistry with Björk’s avant-garde musical style. Producers Sara Nassimand Kat Mansoor bring their expertise to the project, while Bergur Þórisson serves as musical director and re-recording mixer. The film’s exceptional cinematography comes courtesy of Artur Tort, and the seamless edit was crafted by Walter Mauriot.
